Should I order "extra" tiles for my project?
First measure the area to be covered by tiles, which is known as the coverage area. Measure the height and width for wall tiles or the length and width for the floor tiles and to be covered individually and then add the totals together which will give your “square feet”. Reduce your calculations for all windows, doors, mirrors, baths tub, etc. Then allow for 5-10% for wastage and 10% for tiles installed diagonally. A good tile installation can last many years, so it is a good idea to store a few leftover tiles, in case a tile or tiles get damaged in the years to come.
Are our marble floor tiles slippery?
They can be slippery, especially when wet. Installing honed marble with more of a matte finish will provide your floors with more traction as will choosing smaller tiles, which mean more grout lines.
