Everyone knows that white marble is difficult to care for, but what is the difficulty?

White marble is often favored by people for its unique color, texture and pattern. It is widely used in indoor and outdoor decoration. It is commonly seen on the floor of the living room, the kitchen countertop, and the bathroom sink. Due to some of the characteristics of white marble, once it is improperly maintained, problems such as pollution, disease, and loss of light will occur, which greatly reduces the elegant decorative effect.

Why is white marble more difficult to maintain than other marbles?

01 Reasons for mineral composition

Since the main mineral component of white marble is magnesium sulfate (MgSO4), the content of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) is relatively low, and general marble crystallizers are weakly acidic, and mainly chemically react with the calcium carbonate in the stone. It is called "calcification reaction"), so it is difficult for white marble to react with weakly acidic crystallization agents, so that it is considered that white marble is difficult to emit light and cannot achieve the desired crystallization effect.

In addition, white marble has a high iron content and is easily oxidized when exposed to water or in a humid environment, resulting in rusty yellow spots (Fe2O3).

02color reason

Since the color of the stone is white, it will be very obvious if there is slight pollution, and it is particularly not resistant to dirt.

03Material reason

Some white marbles (such as Jazz White) have relatively low density, hardness, high water absorption, and relatively loose material, which is also the reason why this type of white marble is not easy to shine.

04 visual reasons

Since the stone and the light are both white, the contrast is not obvious, so it will give people a feeling of poor gloss.
